I can't get enough. This series has been amazing, I can't stop reading. I know when I start one of these books in this series I will be tuned out to everything else. I enjoy all the characters, Dylan and how unsure he has been with Greg, Callen and Evelyn possibly, Blue Boy. The Threes actually make me sit tight till the group is safe. You won't be disappointed if you love zombies. If your a stickler on grammar remember it's Australia. But get past the editing mistakes and all is good. I have loved this series from the first book. The characters are very well written. You can empathize with them or hate them depending on the character. It is fast paced but the time line is so seamless you don't get lost. Also, you don't have three pages of a character's inner monologue after a question and then have to go back three pages to figure out what the character is answering, for which I am very grateful. The suspense is unmatched in my opinion and I read a lot of zompoc books.
Loved escape. Hated the cliffhanger; although it was well done and left me chomping at the bit for more. Cannot wait for book 4. I have only one problem with this series. Exactly how long will it take for the characters to figure out that using silent weapons such as a machete or knife like in the Walking Dead is preferable to always resorting to guns and now ever more valuable bullets?
Author is a total brat leaving us in a lurch with his cliffhanger of epic proportions but I will be waiting anxiously for the next book! I like zombie books but so many authors get too caught up in just long descriptions of grisly kills and go on and on about weapons. These books have all that but much more importantly, have a great story that has a great mix of hope, despair, love, distrust, action and suspence. Can't wait to see where the story goes next!
I have loved this series since book #1 !!!!. I'm not crazy about cliff hangers, but if I'm guaranteed a proper ending, I'll be happy. There are a lot of characters to keep track of, but the author keeps you involved with each and every one. And I want to know what happens to them. This book was a great "edge of your seat" read. Anyone who likes zombie apocalypse novels should enjoy this.
Awesome zombie book! This is the 3rd book in his series and it was his best. I was on the edge of my seat reading about their adventures. The zombies were the scary type. I mean zombies are creepy but these were different. I fell in love with the characters. They became my family and friends. Great character development which is very important to me. Story was believable. I absolutely recommend giving these books a try. Showing be disappointed.
Yet another fantastic novel by this outstanding Australian author! I loved the first two books in the series but I have to say book 3, "Escape", is probably my favourite so far.
True to form, Baillie has kept up the pace of the first two novels. There's something about this quick pace that just builds momentum and makes it hard to put the book down. As always, the characters and their relationships are a focal point and I love the sense of community that is developing. This book also further expands on the virus and it's impact on the infected, the changes they are going through, all of which adds an interesting layer to the story.I also love the way the book is structured. It's essentially divided into three interconnecting story-lines, each with their own set of characters, and the result of this kind of structure is some "mini" cliffhangers during the course of the book. And whilst we're on the subject of cliffhangers ... what a finish this book has! It definitely leaves you desperately wanting to know what happens next!
Another worthy addition to the Invasion of the Dead series. Totally non-stop action here. Luck seems to be about 50 percent of the story here again, which is probably the real world truth. Without it, the best laid plans don't mean much in the end. Owen doesn't hesitate to cull characters in these books, so don't think that just because someone is a main character that they are zombie proof, they're not. Good continued development of his characters (at least the ones that live long enough). Story line continues to be interesting and will definitely keep me around for the next book. Not much of a fan of cliff hangers, and this book has a weak one, so be warned.
