I’m going to try not to gush over this book, but basically I’m going to gush. I’m also going to admit I’ve read this book twice, mhmm, I have. I couldn’t stop thinking about it, after I first read it. From the first pages I was pulled into this story and I devoured it, I had to know what was going to happen next, and why Beast was this way? and what was going to happen to Frankie? Was she going to survive? As the story unravels, my emotions were all over the place, it’s intense, angsty, twisted, dark, and often I found myself questioning my own sanity. It’s a Twisted tale of Beauty and The Beast.I wanna talk about Beast first, he and Frankie are amazing characters in their own ways but I love Beast. But not in that swoony OMG he’s going to be your next book boyfriend way. I mean sure he could be, maybe. But I might be the only one who does like him, I always have soft spots for the dark and twisted Heroes who's hearts are just buried a little extra deep and guarded. He does some pretty awful things though, but I’m intrigued because there are a few times where he isn’t some crazy lunatic, and those tiny glimpses have me hooked. Could Frankie break him because of that? He’s your perfect Villain, he does as he pleases and it doesn’t matter who he hurts while doing it, he’s feared by everyone and he likes that.
Frankie is strong, she’s courageous, and a bit feisty. In the midst of such a total cluster of madness, she stands tall and strong not once whining about her circumstances. She somewhat embraces it which that helps mold her into a more fierce version of herself. I think this is only the start of what’s to come from her. I have my ideas of what the future for her might hold and to me, with the way this book ended I think that she’s going to amazes us even more in the books to come.
I am left speechless, this book isn’t a hearts and flowers kind of read, it’s a very very dark and ugly story. But I loved each moment, Mary Catherine was able to evoke so much emotion from me. Emotions that with these types of reads very few authors have ever been able to make me feel like I did with this book. It’s not romance, this isn’t a love story, but if that were the case it’d be something entirely different than what it is. I think that this series is going to be amazing, it’ll push boundaries, and to me this is Mary Catherine’s greatest series yet.

I've never read a story that reminded me of Anastasia (the long lost Duchess of Russia) and the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast. When I began reading, I thought I knew what was going to happen from Point A to Point B. I'm glad that wasn't that the case. This isn't your classic love story, which is usually filled with flowers, first dates, kisses, and maybe even walks in the park. This was story built around hate. I loved Frankie's character. She didn't have any delusions concerning her situation. She didn't whine and pull the woe is me. Frankie fought back when she could. She wasn't stupid by any stretch of the word. Even the Beast towards the middle of the story caught on to that. He realized that Frankie was a true danger to his business and ultimately him in general.
I loved, as a reader, I got to see a change within the characters. These characters, Frankie and the Beast, was fighting these changes left in right. Neither understood the change in themselves over the changes they were having on each other. There were a few quotes that caught my eye. The Beast stated, "It's not true love unless the person can destroy you completely." When I read that line... I stopped and said ain't that the truth. There were a few times throughout the story, which quite frankly, I wanted to strangle the crap out of the Beast. But then I would shrug and keep reading. Yet when he said that one line... I was like damn... He got me. Anteros, known as the Beast, was willing to surrender mainly be destroyed as long as he had Frankie.
I will be reading book two soon. Is it bad that I want the Beast to live happily ever after with his cuore? If you are an advent and want a tale like you have never seen start with Beast.
Frankie💋 (Francesca) is trading her young innocent life👰 to the Mafia underboss called BEAST🐺, for the life of her father.
Antero is the Beast🐺, a merciless killer🔫🔪, a trader of human flesh, women slaves💃, and the fearless leader of his own gang of killers💀 called the Wolves.🐺🔫🔪
Frankie💋 is a virgin👰. Beast🐺 can get a couple million dollars💰 by selling her to the Institute, a human flesh trafficking organization he's involved with. It would pay her father's debts. But Beast🐺🍌🌋✋ has a dark need to keep Frankie💋 for himself, even though it will cause a lot of trouble with his men and with the Institute.
Antero🐺🍌🌋✋ takes her to his penthouse, because to tell the truth, he is enthralled with her. She has an unfiltered mouth as well as innocence of body and mind, and she pushes all his buttons.
Antero🐺🍌🌋✋ dresses her in designer clothes and ends up losing control and having sex with her the first night, thus basically ruining her value as a virgin👰. Oops!
He hates what He has done and takes it out on her with mainly hours and days of mental torture, along with imprisonment, and some BDSM binding. He is an unpredictable psychopath.
Frankie💋💔 dreads his presence, because she never knows how He will treat her, how he will act. At the same time she wants him more than anything!
Since Frankie💋 came into his strictly regimented life, he has been ignoring his duty, making tactical mistakes. Frankie💋💔 hates his sexual attentions, yet she craves him. It's a hate/love relationship. Antero🐺🍌🌋✋ hates how she makes him feel, makes him do, he can't get her out of his mind. He doesn't know what 💘love is.
Frankie💋 is also hiding a deep dark, wonderful secret that she doesn't even know about, but among the mafia🔫🔪, it's an urban legend.
Antero🐺🍌🌋✋ is a huge muscled up man, truly a Beast🐺 of a man. He stands about 6'6" or so and fills a doorway. Yet he is blindingly handsome, extremely wealthy💰, and he dresses impeccably👔. He is cruel, ruthless, and emotionless on the surface. Inside, he seethes with emotions, mostly hate.

This is an extremely well written book of a man with all the power who takes an innocent young woman with no power into his life.
The only problem I had with The book was while listening to it with kindle audible narrative, it would shut off every time it came to one of many hard stops, or lines drawn across the page.
BTW, this book ends in a cliffhanger! Highly recommend!
